Share Your World 2017: Weeks 1, 2, & 3

So Anxious Mom has been doing this Share Your World thing and I decided to check it out. It’s a challenge hosted by Cee over at Cee’s Photography. She poses a few questions each week that we’re supposed to answer. Apparently, Cee’s been doing this for a few years now, but I’m just joining in. Since we’re only 3 weeks into the new year, I’m going to answer the first 3 sets here and then will endeavor to keep up with it on the regular schedule (and in the future, the image above will link to the associated week’s post on Cee’s blog).

Week 1 (Posted January 2nd)

Would you prefer to receive a unicycle, bicycle, tricycle or motorcycle?
Bicycle. I used to love riding my bike all around the neighborhood with my friends growing up.

What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this year?
More crafty projects!  I only completed one sewing project last year and would really like to get back into both sewing and knitting and actually complete a few things.

What was one of the highlights of 2016 for you?
Watching Dom reach so many amazing milestones. It’s truly unbelievable how much babies develop and learn in their first year.

Would you prefer to fly a kite or fly in a hot air balloon?
Honestly, I would love to fly in a hot air balloon, though I’m sure I’d be petrified!

WEEK 2 (POSTED JANUARY 9th)

If you lost a bet and had to dye your hair a color of the rainbow for a week, what color would it be?
Blue. I always thought that could be fun as a teenager, but never had the balls to do anything. I’ve always been afraid to do stuff with my hair, to be honest.

If you could choose one word to focus on for 2017, what would it be?
This is a tough one. I’ll go with Family. I want to do family trips, activities, etc.

What was one thing you learned last year that you added to your life?
Being a mom/parent is hard, and it’s OK to admit when you’re struggling, and when you need help. No one is perfect and everyone needs help.

If life was ‘just a bowl of cherries’… which fruit other than a cherry would you be..?
Blueberries. I love them.

WEEK 3 (POSTED JANUARY 16TH)

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Closet doors are closed, I don’t like having them open. Bedroom door stays open.

Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Yes, I do. They’re perfect to use when traveling or going away for a weekend. And they often smell great! (A co-worker of mine collects them and brings them to a local women’s shelter. There is a lot of travel in our company as we have a few offices in other countries, not to mention trainings and conferences people attend, so she always collects a good amount)

What is your usual bedtime?
Between 9 & 10pm. I’m up around 5:30am every day for work, and generally still up relatively early on the weekends since, you know, 15-month-old.

Do you like to use post-it notes?
Yes, mainly at work. I tend to stick them all over my desk. And sometimes I abbreviate things assuming I’ll know what I meant later on. Of course, that’s not always the case.

When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?
I don’t remember. But I used to have a pen pal back when I was  younger, now thinking back it was probably close to 20 years ago (man I feel old when I can say something was 20 years ago). Her name was Lauren, we met on a cruise, and she was from Zimbabwe. We kept in touch for quite a while. I’m pretty sure I still have the packet of letters somewhere at my parents’ house.

Any phobias?
Not any true phobias. But there are definitely things that creep me out: certain bugs (things with lots of legs, for sure; blech).

How tall are you?
The question should probably ask me how short I am: 5’3″

I look forward to the other questions that’ll come up through the year!
